What is this tool?
The Salary Hike Calculator compares current and new base salary plus annual bonuses. It shows total cash change, base-salary hike, monthly difference, and a three-year projection.
Formula used
Total cash hike % = ((New base + new bonus) - (Current base + current bonus)) / (Current base + current bonus) x 100
Example calculation
A move from $80,000 to $100,000 with no bonus change is a $20,000 increase, or a 25% total cash hike.
When should you use it?
Use it when comparing an appraisal letter, a job offer, a counteroffer, or a revised compensation package.
Common mistakes
Always compare the same period. Annual salary should be compared with annual salary, not monthly take-home.
